Governor Defrauds 500M in Fake Gold Deal- Arrested


Police detectives attached at CID headquarters in Kibuli are holding and investigating a 28-year-old man on allegations that he defrauded people over shs 500m in fake gold deal. The suspect who is now behind police bars has been identified as Odaka Jimmy aka Governor who hails from Mirumu Town Council in Abim District.

According to CID spokesperson Charles Twiine, Governor was arrested on Monday from Soroti after several complaints were raised against him. “This man defrauded people over shs 500m and later he switched off his phones and went into hiding but we have been tracing him under cover and we got him in Soroti,” says Twiine.

Police spokesperson says the last to fall into his hands was a prominent Businessman Mumbere Boniface who he defrauded shs 85m .

“The suspect has over 70 case files reported against him in Abim and Soroti respectively,” says Twiine adding that he has admitted all the fraud cases against him.

“I shared the money with top Government officials whom I can’t not reveal because my life would in danger,” says Governor. However, Twiine says all contacts he gave investigators are not available.

“After investigations Governor will appear in courts of law on charges of fraud, obtaining money by false pretence,” says Twiine.
