Security has heavily deployed in Sembabule and surrounding areas as NRM elects Flag Bearer for Mawogora North Constituency.
The battle for the seat is between President Museveni young brother Aine Kaguta Soda and Minister Sam Kahamba Kutesa’s daughter Musherure Shartsi. The seat is currently held by Sam Kutesa.
According to eye witness security deployed over 10000 officers to make sure no gun violence.
Eye witnesses say police deployed over 40 security officers on every polling station.
“We want to make sure that this election go in books of records. No rigging, violence and gun intimidation,” says a security chief. He says the residents will choose their leader and that will be end of the story.
He further says they also deployed heavily in surrounding areas after they got information that both candidates wanted to ferry people out side to come and vote for them.
“After landing on that information, we deployed on all points that connect to Sembabule and all vehicles entering are thoroughly checked and passengers are tasked to identify them selves by show of National IDs,” says another security chief.
He added that no body is allowed to hold a fire arm when he or she is not on security list. “All security personnel who are not on the list and are either voters or local residents have been disarmed to avoid chaos,” says another high ranking officer.
The voting will start at mid day and by 2pm the business will be over. Sources say Kutesa’s daughter may end up taking the seat ahead of Sodo
