IGP Ochola’s Personal Assistant Awarded With Heroes’ Medal

The Personal and legal Assistant to the Inspector General of Police, SSP Fred Mirondo is among the 17 police officers who have been awarded with Heroes medal for their excellence services.
SSP Mirondo is currently serving as Personal and Legal Assistant to IGP Martins Okoth Ochola, and has served Uganda Police Force for over ten years.
Before he was appointed Personal Assistant to IGP, he served in Directorate of Criminal Investigations CID under the department of Land Protection Unit.
During his time in Lands, he successfully fought top city land grabbers.
“Actually Afande Mirondo fought land grabbers without fear or favor. Some city Mafias offered him millions of money as bribes but he turned them down,” a senior police officer told us.
Another police officer at Naguru says he is straight when doing his duties.
“When you want to see IGP, you must follow the procedures irrespective of your status, ” says a close officer attached to IGP’s office. The source adds that previously people would jump protocol whenever they wanted to see the IGP but this is no longer the case.
Mirondo says he was happy for the medal and will continue serving the Uganda Police Force deligently.
