M7 Commissions shs24.6bn Entebbe Market

 

President Museveni will today commission another modern Market in Entebbe Kitooro Wakiso district.

Geoffrey Ettedu from the Ministry of Local Government said that the 24.6 billion  market will accommodate over 930 stalls.

He added that the market will  also have modern facilities like house multiple food stalls, restaurants, banks, clinics, salons, fruit and vegetable stands, butcheries, and a daycare centre and a  CCTV camera connection.

It  houses both a market and a taxi park also has fire equipment, hydrants, solar panels and a garbage hoist with a capacity of over 200 kilograms of garbage and a garbage collection centre.

Kitooro market is among  the 12 modern markets  constructed by government under the Markets and Agriculture Trade Improvement Project (MATIP) and implemented by the Ministry of Local Government.

The President has earlier commissioned other five  modern markets in Soroti, Busia, Lugazi,Kasese and Tororo.
