Mengo Demands Sacking, Arresting of Police Officers Who Fired Tear Gas During Mbogo Clan Meeting

The Katikkiro of Buganda, Owekitibwa Charles Peter Mayiga has called for sacking and arresting of the commander and police officers who caused disruptions during the thanksgiving ceremony of the Mbogo clan in Mugulu village, in Singo.

Owek. Mayiga made this demand when a team of senior officers led by the Chief Political Commissar, AIGP Asan Kasingye paid him an official visit at his office in Bulange Mengo.

The officers met with the Katikkiro to brief him on what exactly happened in Mugulu Ssingo during the thanksgiving ceremony of Omutaka Gajule Kayira Kasibante, the head of the Mbogo Clan.

They also to apologized to him, the people of Buganda and members of the Mbogo Clan for the operational lapse and disruption of the ceremony by the territorial police.

The Katikkiro was more appreciative, and the team promised a stronger cooperation between the Buganda Kingdom and the Uganda Police Force
