Kajwengye opposed the results and petitioned the party leadership claiming massive fraud and irregularities which forced the president to order for fresh elections in 84 villages where the said malpractices were manifested.
During the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting held at state house Entebbe, President Museveni who doubles as the NRM party National chairman on Thursday Oct,8,2020 ordered for fresh elections in 84 villages of Nyabushozi that were marred with violence among other irregularities.

On October 5, Kajwengye had earlier announced that he had opted out of the race saying NRM electoral commission had organized elections in only 25 villages instead of 84 villages as directed.
