Staff in State house is in panic mode after President Museveni’s once powerful Personal Assistant Maj Edith Nakalema is back in the country from London.
Nakalema, who until last year served as the President’s Private Secretary, was sent to London-based Shrivenham Defence Academy for a Senior Command and Staff College.
The Special Forces Command powerful woman is back in the country and anytime president is deploying her.
Major Nakalema was credited for helping president to win 2016 election.
According to our sources who talked to Major Nakalema narrated to our reporter that she has been in the country since last week.
“Many in state house are in panic mode that she might replace them since President trusted her so much and she’s the first female officer to be sent to that military college”. A source narrated.
Nakalema’s departure from State House came high on the heels of intense power struggle amongst the president’s private secretaries.
Nakalema wielded immense power during her several years at State House and was believed to be more influential than the Principal Private Secretary who was actually her supervisor.
Increased cases of intrigues at State House also saw the exit of former Presidential Assistant on Information, Sarah Kagingo, and former Presidential Press Secretary Tamale Mirundi now serving as Senior Presidential Advisor on Media.
