Entebbe police is holding a 39 year old male bank fraudster after he was found in possession of seven ATM cards registered in different names.
The suspect who has been identified as one Wandera Geoffrey is a Musamya and a fisherman who resides at Abaita babiri in Entebbe municipality.
It is alleged that the suspect joined an old woman in an ATM enclosure and pretended to be helping her but in the process ,he switched his fake ATM card with that of the victim which the ATM machine rejected.
The suspect having ‘helped’ in vain opted to walk away but the old woman was suspicious, she made an alarm and the suspect was arrested there and then.
Upon searching the suspect, he was found in possession of seven (7) ATM cards registered in different names.
The cards were in the names of ; Sarah Nakawuka of Centenary bank ,Isabirye Sula of Equity bank, Nabadda Sarah of Tropical bank, Fred Mwesezi of Pride micro finance and Bosco Bongomin of Centenary bank. The other two credit cards had faded identities.
The suspect was arrested on 28/09/2020 by Stanbic bank security officers and handed over to Entebbe police. Inquiries are at hand vide Entebbe CRB 875/2020.
