Stolen Police Gun Recovered in Bugiri

The Police in Bugiri has recovered  a gun that was stolen from one of its officers.

The gun was stolen from No 40784 PC Omara Richard on 05/03/2020 at around 7:00pm  on his way to his  station guarding Iganga Chief Magistrate.

According to Police in Bugiri, riffle no UG POL 565823246 34729 with 28 rounds of ammunition from Bugiri district in Kapyanga sub-county, Kagali village was reported missing.

Since then joint security efforts have been on the move to recover the said gun.

“Recently, we received intelligence information that Hakim Maguma, of  Buigula village, Buyanga sub-county, Bugweri district together with his son in law, Abbas Dholimala, Kagali, village, Kapyanga sub-county, Bugiri district were selling the gun at seven million.” says Police.

The joint security team arrested the two suspects on a tip-off from potential buyers.
Investigations are ongoing.
