The National Resistance Movement (NRM) which is also the ruling party has said it will not front any candidate to run on their ticket in Mawogola North ahead of 2021 General elections.
This shocking information was announced today by NRM Secretary Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba in her two paged letter.
This comes shortly after NRM disqualified Soda Kaguta Aine’s victory citing some malpractices that were filed by his main challenger Shartis Nayebare who also doubles as the daughter to Minister Sam Kutesa.
In her statement, Kasule says it’s not possible to summon CEC meeting and endorse the new flag bearer since the closure of nomination ends today. “I have therefore taken the considered decision that NRM will not endorse any Candidate to contest as its flag bearer for the position of Member of Parliament for Mawogola North,” Reads part of Kasule Lumumba’s letter.
Meanwhile we have also learnt that Shartis was today nominated to stand as independent candidate to beat the deadline day. We are not sure if Sodo also got nominated as Independent candidate or he pulled out of the race.
