Police at Matuga are actively investigating a shocking murder that occurred on 14th February 2026 at around 8:00 pm in Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District. The victim, Bukenya Martin, an 18-year-old student of Hill Side Secondary School in Matugga and a resident of Kirinyabigo, Kawanda, Nabweru Division, was reportedly beaten to death in a violent attack.
According to preliminary reports, the suspect, identified as Herbert, allegedly attacked Bukenya Martin after finding him in his house with Herbert’s 14-year-old daughter. The attack escalated, resulting in Bukenya Martin’s death at around 11:00 pm. Following the incident, Herbert fled the scene along with his entire family. Authorities are making urgent efforts to apprehend him.
Neighbors and community members described the incident as shocking and tragic, expressing concern for the safety of the community. Police have appealed to anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation. Meanwhile, family and friends of Bukenya Martin are mourning the loss of a promising young student whose life was cut short in a brutal and unexpected way.
