No Room for Intimidation! AIGP Magambo Warns Election Trouble

AIGP Tom Magambo the Director CID has assured Ugandans of a peaceful and secure electoral period, warning that anyone planning to threaten or intimidate citizens will face the full force of the law. He emphasized that the police will not tolerate acts of violence, fear, or disorder aimed at disrupting the democratic process.

Speaking on the country’s preparedness ahead of the elections, AIGP Magambo said the Criminal Investigations Directorate is working closely with other security agencies to ensure the safety of all Ugandans. He noted that the police are committed to protecting lives and property before, during, and after the elections.

He made it clear that the law will be applied equally to everyone, regardless of political party, status, or personal influence. According to him, security agencies will not favor any side and will take firm action against individuals or groups that attempt to incite violence or cause unrest.

AIGP Magambo encouraged political leaders and their supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and respect the law. He urged them to focus on issue-based campaigns instead of using threats, hate speech, or intimidation to gain political advantage.

He also called upon the public to cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities and individuals who may be planning to disturb the peace. He said maintaining security is a shared responsibility that requires the involvement of all citizens.
