NRM delegates from Kabarole, Kitagwenda, Kamwenge, Ntoroko, Bunyangabu, and Kasese districts have officially endorsed Mr. Calvin Echodu for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson – Eastern Region. At the meeting Ambassador Nelson Ocheger Amooti, who introduced Echodu to the delegates, praised him for his love and dedication to the party.
Ambassador Ocheger shared Echodu’s past contributions, especially his work in the Teso region. He said that in 2006, Teso had not fully supported the NRM, but thanks to Echodu’s efforts, the party grew stronger there. He also said that for the people of Teso, President Yoweri Museveni remains their only candidate and the true leader of Uganda.
He called on the delegates to rally behind Echodu, saying that his vision goes beyond Eastern Uganda and can benefit the whole country. He urged them to trust Echodu with the NRM Vice Chairperson – Eastern Region role so he can help move the party forward.
When Echodu spoke, he thanked President Museveni for his great leadership. He promised to serve the people of Eastern Uganda with dedication and energy. He talked about fighting poverty by strengthening NRM SACCOs (savings and credit groups) and helping party members get the support they need.
Echodu also spoke about identifying, training, and supporting NRM cadres. He said many party members use their own money to carry out party work and later face financial challenges. His plan is to create a system where cadres can benefit through SACCOs while continuing to support the NRM.
One delegate, Kyomuhendo, said she was excited about Echodu’s leadership. She said, “We need action, not words. Calvin has always been a man of action.” Another delegate at the meeting said that Echodu’s strong and uniting leadership may scare some people, but encouraged him to stay focused, saying, “God will see him through.”
At the end of the meeting, the delegates openly endorsed Calvin Echodu as their candidate for NRM Vice Chairperson – Eastern Region. The host chairperson invited everyone to show their support, saying, “Let’s endorse him as ours! He is the man we need to take our party to the next level.”
The delegates responded with excitement, showing their full confidence in Echodu’s leadership and future plans.
