NUP’s Buganda Region Vice President and Butambala County legislator, Hon. Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, has been arrested by the Uganda Police Force in connection with recent incidents of political violence in Butambala District. The arrest comes amid heightened political tension in the area, following reports of clashes linked to political activities.

In a statement issued by the Katonga Regional Police, the force confirmed that Hon. Kivumbi is currently being held in police custody. According to the regional police spokesperson, SP Lydia Tumushabe, the arrest is part of ongoing investigations aimed at establishing the circumstances surrounding the reported violence.
