The National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya has today completed his political history class for this cohort at the party’s leadership school .
He has called in learners to master the country’s political and constitutional history which he said can help them better shape the future of Uganda.
“We have spent the past three months studying Uganda’s political and constitutional history. We have studied about the people who contributed positively towards this history, and those who messed up our country to the point at which we are now”.Said Rubongoya.
“We also know that the vast majority of good citizens at different points in that history chose to stay away from the political discourse, as it is today – giving room to the most undeserving individuals to run the show and drive us to this point. By choosing to be part of this struggle, you have already chosen to be a part of history. Your children will never ask where you were or what you did when our country came to this point. The question you must ask yourself however, is what the people will read about you in 20, 30 years. Will they read about a woman or man who worsened the country’s problems or one who saved motherland from the mess and thereafter contributed to its development and prosperity?”He added.
