Police in Oyam District carried out a successful intelligence-led operation on 25th November 2025 after receiving reliable information about criminal activities in Ajali Opoo Village, Adel Parish, Minakulu Sub-county. The intelligence report indicated that a group of criminals had been dismantling motorcycles and changing their number plates at the home of a local man identified as Ayen Calvine.
Acting on this information, the Territorial Police, together with local leaders and residents, searched Calvine’s home and the surrounding area. The search revealed shocking evidence. Police recovered about forty motorcycle number plates that had been buried in a banana plantation near the home. These plates are believed to have been removed from stolen motorcycles.

During the same operation, police also found a box containing spanners and several other tools that are commonly used to dismantle or alter motorcycles. In addition, three bundles of dried opium and other items linked to criminal activity were seized from the scene. The discovery suggests the presence of a well-organized criminal group operating within the community.
Although no arrests were made during the raid, police say investigations are ongoing. Some of the suspects are already known to security agencies, and efforts to track and arrest them are in progress.
Authorities are now calling on members of the community to cooperate with security forces by providing any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the individuals involved. Police emphasized that strong cooperation between residents and security teams is key to fighting crime and keeping the district safe.
