Angry local residents of Kanyara village kikondo ward in Kitagwenda district on Thursday lost their tempers and stormed the home of Levi Amarakutunga the district Councilor representing people with disability (PWDS) and burnt it to ashes and later destroyed his banana plantations.
According to local residents, the leader was being punished for have sacrificed the 4-year girl Trinah Ainomugisha to gain wealth.
“We are not going to spare any of his properties. We shall show him that people don’t get rich through sacrifice,” Residents were quoted as they set fire on his house. They added that they will trace his family and murder all of them. “This is not the first time we have been hearing that Levi became rich due to sacrifice, but we have been ignoring since we had not seen it. But he proved to us by Sacrificing our own daughter,” Local residents added.
Mary Mugizi the female Councilor representing Kikondo ward said she was informed about the burning of Levi’s house by bypasssers and she also notified police.
Police say, they have started hunting for the people who torched Levi’s house.
“This is a serious crime, those who did will be arrested and charged with Arson,” says OC Station Kitagwenda police.
He says the suspects in the murder of Ainomugisha are before court.
Levi and three others were remanded to prison by court on charges of murder.
