Police Arrest Three Over Illegal Electoral Materials at Nabweru Polling Station

Police in Nabweru are holding three people suspected of unlawfully possessing electoral materials during the ongoing voting exercise. The incident happened on Tuesday, 4th February 2026, at Zimbena Polling Center, raising concern among voters and election officials at the station.

According to police, the suspects were found with materials related to the election process that they were not legally allowed to have. Security officers quickly stepped in, recovered the items, and took the individuals into custody to prevent any possible interference with the voting process. The situation was brought under control to ensure that voting could continue smoothly.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, said investigations are ongoing. Security presence has since been maintained around the polling center to guarantee order and public confidence as the voting exercise continues. Police have urged citizens to remain calm and report any suspicious activities to authorities immediately.
