Police Chief Arrested In City Robbery

Police in Entebbe is holding one of its officers who was arrested robbing a city businessman on gun point. The arrested officer has been identified as ASP Amutuhaire Bright attached to Kajjansi police station.

According to our spies at Entebbe police station, Asp Bright Amutuhaire and his accomplice Musinguzi Richard last night at around 10:00 pm followed a businessman identified as Tom Kasuka, a resident of Busega who was coming from Entebbe town and stopped him at Abaita Ababiri along entebbe road before ordering him to get out of the car or else they shoot him.

Arrested suspects were driving motor vehicle Reg No UAW 714B a Toyota mark 11 while the victim was driving motor vehicle reg No UBD 328J.

The victim quickly called his friend one MAJ Kazara commander LDU in Entebbe who rushed at the scene with a police patrol and surrounded the vehicle where the robbers were moving in and exchanged bullets with army officers until they were arrested.

According to the victim, the same suspects had ever robbed him two times and that he reported the matter at Entebbe police station vide SD 62/29/6/2019 adding that yesterday’s robbery was the third one.

“I have reported this officer to his bosses for many times but nothing had happened to him until I quickly called my friend this time from UPDF who rescued me ,” says Tom Kasuka who was robbed. He adds that the first time they took over my shs 15M after threatening to kill me.

Upon arrest of suspects, a police officer was in police khaki uniform armed with a gun and his beret cap also was recovered in the car.

Our spies further told us that  its not the first time for the  arrested police officer being in robbery saying that he  one time robbed Refugees from  UNHCR of their money worth shs 15M when he was still working as officer in charge clock tower. The UNHCR victims complained before AIGP Hassan Kasingye, Asuman Mugyenyi and KMP Commander Moses Kafeero when they had gone for community policing in kisenyi early this year. Kafeero ordered him to refund the money and he was immediately transferred to kajjansi where he has again been arrested in another robbery.

When contacted for a comment, Luke Owoyesigire the deputy police spokesperson Kampala metropolitan confirmed the arrest of their own but could not reveal more details as investigations were still on going.
