The financial position of the Budadiri Arabic Coffee Millers based in Sironko is estimated to shoot up after the Union got a contract to supply coffee worth Shs 3bn , Spyreports has exclusively learnt.
According to the information we obtained, the contract was entered between Balambuli Lukugati which is owned by Mr Rwabogo.
Odrek Rwabogo who is also the son in law to president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Rwabogo also works as Presidential advisor on Special duties and also serves as Presidential advisory committee on exports and industrial Development.
During an interview with Mr Wagisha Julius the General Manager Budadiri Arabic Coffee Miller he confirmed the contract. “It is true we signed a contract with Mr Rwabogo through his Company to supply him 120 tonnes of Processed coffee at the cost of Shs 2.970bn,” Wagisha stated adding that the supply has already started. “Mr Rwabogo sends his trucks from Mbala to our factory and we load them with coffee and they go back to Mbale,” he states.
He further explains that they will use the money to improve on their quality and even to sensitise farmers on how to improve on their coffee quality. He also says that the money will help them to work to their full capacity.

“We shall also use part of this money to chase our export license such that we can export our coffee freely without going through agents who also charge us heavily,” she says. It is on the record that Rwabogo is one the main coffee exporters in Uganda. He recently built a multibillion coffee factory in Rwashamaire based in Ntumgamo District.
