Police is investigating circumstances under which Arnold Aine Mugisha, one of the owners of Hickory Bar and Restaurant in Kololo, was shot and killed by a security guard at Quality Supermarket in Naalya, Kira Division, and Wakiso District.
Police has identified the security guard as Angoria Moses attached to Saracen Security Company who was guarding the supermarket.
Luke Owoyesigire the deputy police spokesperson for Kampala metropolitan said that the guard shot Aine in the mouth before being attacked by a mob that beat him serious and was saved by the police officers. The security guard is currently admitted at Mulago hospital.
Eye witness’s account
Aine now deceased and his two other colleagues came to super market for shopping but he remained inside the car after the shopping and that one of Aine’s friends released a trowry which knocked one of the cars in the parking.
Luke says that as the deceased was reversing the car, he knocked the foot of a security guard identified as Awaze Babu which prompted the exchange of two security guards and three customers.
Angoria then rushed to the centry box, picked his gun SAR type and shot Aine in the mouth while he was on the steering of his vehicle and his colleagues rushed him to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police recovered the killer’s gun as an exhibit and is being kept in police armory as investigations continue.
Hickory bar boss was rushed to Kampala Independent hospital in Ntinda after the shooting where he was pronounced dead thereafter.
Luke adds that police opened a case of murder vide CRB 530/2019 of kira Division against the security guard and he will be appearing in courts after investigations are done and when he is out of danger from where he is admitted from.
