Following the salary Increments of top police Chiefs by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in this Financial year, the Inspector General of Police Abbas Byakagaba has deployed them in 9 Zonal across the County to boost Security Ahead of NRM primary elections scheduled for tomorrow.

To lead these zones, nine senior police officers have been carefully selected and appointed as Zonal Commanders, with immediate effect. Each officer will be responsible for specific regions, making sure that security operations are well-organized and all electoral events are conducted in a peaceful environment.
Among those appointed is AIGP Kafeero Moses Kabugo, who will lead the Busoga Zone based in Jinja. His coverage includes Busoga North, Busoga East, Kiira, and Sezibwa. AIGP Tanui Stephen takes charge of the Northern Zone headquartered in Gulu, covering areas such as Aswa West, Aswa East, and both West and North West Nile.
CP Lawot Patrick has been assigned to the Karamoja Zone in Moroto, overseeing security in Mt. Moroto, Kidepo, Elgon, Sipi, Bukedi South, and Bukedi North. In Soroti, CP Nkore Paul will command the Kyoga Zone, covering North, East, and South Kyoga.
The Central Zone, with its base in Masaka, will be led by CP Maate Godfrey Bolingo, handling Masaka West, Masaka East, Wamala, and Katonga. Meanwhile, CP Muluya Moses is now in charge of the Albertine Zone from Hoima, overseeing Albertine South, Albertine North, and Savannah.
In the capital city, CP Ecega Richard will command the Kampala Metropolitan Zone, covering KMP North, South, and East. CP Kulaigye Hillary will supervise the South Western Zone from Mbarara, managing Rwizi, Kigezi, and Greater Bushenyi. Finally, CP Namuwoza Dennis has been placed in charge of the Rwenzori Zone based in Fort Portal, responsible for Rwenzori East and West.
This well-structured approach is a clear signal that the Uganda Police Force is ready and committed to ensuring that the 2025 elections are held in an atmosphere of peace and security. The zonal commanders, all experienced officers, are expected to work closely with the public, electoral bodies, and other security agencies to address any threats and ensure a smooth electoral process.
The public has been encouraged to cooperate with the zonal commanders and report any suspicious activity. With this strong leadership and clear planning, Uganda is taking big steps toward peaceful, credible, and secure elections.
