Police have made a major breakthrough in the investigations surrounding the shocking double murder that occurred on 07/02/2026 at Mumbi Zone, Lungujja Parish, in Rubaga Division, Kampala. The incident had caused fear and concern among residents, especially after a motor vehicle believed to be linked to the crime disappeared shortly after the attack.
According to police, progress was made on 09/02/2026 after credible intelligence was received regarding the whereabouts of the missing motor vehicle, registration number UBH 633M. The vehicle had gone missing immediately after the double murder, raising suspicions that it was used to facilitate the crime or the escape of the suspects.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, police officers launched an operation that led to the arrest of two suspects on 10th February 2026. During the same operation, the missing motor vehicle was successfully recovered, marking a critical step forward in the case and strengthening the ongoing investigations.
One of the suspects has been identified as Ssempala Allan. Police say the arrest and recovery are expected to help uncover more details about how the crime was committed and who else may have been involved. Investigations are still ongoing as detectives work to piece together all the evidence.
Police have assured the public that more information will be shared as investigations progress. The Kampala Metropolitan Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to bringing all those responsible to justice and urged the public to continue cooperating with security agencies by sharing any useful information.
