Tears filled Watoto Church as believers gathered to pray for the late Judith Nanteza, a young woman who died while giving birth last Thursday. The atmosphere was heavy with emotion as friends, family, and church members joined together to comfort her grieving husband, Costa Ssekirime, who spoke through tears about the woman he deeply loved.
Costa described Judith as a caring and devoted wife whose love was pure and unconditional. The couple had only been married for ten months, having tied the knot in January. Their short marriage, though brief, was filled with affection, laughter, and dreams of building a family together. But those dreams were cut short in the most painful way.
According to Costa, Judith had been attending Bethany Hospital for regular checkups throughout her pregnancy. Doctors had advised her to take rest and avoid heavy work. When her time to give birth came, the couple returned to the same hospital, hoping for a safe delivery. Sadly, things took a tragic turn.

Judith began to experience severe bleeding while in labor. The doctors worked hard to help her, but her condition worsened. In the midst of unbearable pain, she managed to deliver her baby. Unfortunately, she could not make it through the bleeding that followed.
As Costa shared this heartbreaking story at Watoto Church, his voice broke several times. Members of the congregation comforted him, praying for strength and for the soul of the departed Judith. Many wept openly, moved by the young couple’s story of love and sudden loss.
Though Judith’s life ended too soon, those who knew her remember her as a woman of faith, kindness, and strength. Her death has left a painful gap, but her memory continues to inspire others to cherish their loved ones and trust in God even in the darkest times.
