Known for redefining runway elegance and setting trends across the fashion world, acclaimed designer Ainomugisha Kevin commonly known as Mr. A.K has now achieved another remarkable milestone—graduating with a law degree from Uganda Christian University, Mukono.
The designer, whose bold collections have graced fashion weeks and celebrity wardrobes alike, crossed a different kind of stage this week, donning academic robes at UCU’s convocation ceremony. With an LLB with honors. Mr. A.K has added legal credentials to a portfolio already rich in creativity, ambition, and global acclaim.
“I’ve always believed that fashion and law are more connected than people think,” Kevin Ainomugisha said. “Behind every design is intellectual property, contracts, branding, and a fight for creative rights. I wanted to understand and be part of that legal framework.”
Peers and professors describe Mr. A.K as a standout student—disciplined, insightful, and driven by curiosity. Despite balancing fashion commitments with coursework, Mr. A.K consistently ranked among the top of the class of 2025 and even contributed to discussions on fashion law, copyright, and entrepreneurship.
Mr. A.K has hinted at plans to merge both passions moving forward—offering legal counsel to creatives, launching advocacy campaigns for designer rights, and possibly pursuing further studies in fashion law or commercial litigation.
The graduation marks a bold transition, but not a departure. “Law is just another way to design,” Mr. A.K said with a smile. “This time, I’m designing solutions.”
