Top Story!! Police Confirm Their Guns Were Used in Shocking Masaka Coffee Robbery

Must read

The Uganda Police Force has finally confirmed that the two guns used in the recent and shocking Masaka coffee robbery belonged to them. This revelation has raised serious concerns among the public about the safety and responsibility of armed officers in the country.

While addressing journalists at the Police headquarters in Naguru, police spokesperson Kitumwa Rusoke admitted that the weapons used in the robbery were indeed police guns. “It’s true the guns that conducted the Masaka coffee robbery belonged to the police,” Kitumwa stated firmly. He explained that investigations were carried out, and it was discovered that the guns were missing from the force before the crime happened.

Kitumwa also revealed that the officers who lost the guns had already been arrested. “We arrested the gun losers, charged them, and they are currently on remand facing charges of criminal negligence,” he said. This means the police are holding their own officers accountable for carelessly losing firearms that ended up being used in a major robbery.

He went on to warn all officers who are allowed to carry firearms to be extra cautious. According to Kitumwa, it is every officer’s duty to ensure their weapon is secure at all times. He stressed that guns in the wrong hands can cause great harm, and this incident should serve as a serious reminder to everyone in the force.

The Masaka coffee robbery shocked many Ugandans, not just because of the crime itself, but also because of the boldness and planning involved. Now that it has come to light that police guns were used in the act, questions remain about how criminals accessed the weapons and whether there are more such lapses within the force. As investigations continue, the public hopes for more transparency and tighter controls over police firearms.
