Early on the morning of August 29, 2025, tragedy struck Namanoga village in Seeta Namuganga Sub County, Mukono District. Around 3:00 AM, a violent mob attack left five people dead, shocking the local community. The victims were among a group of youths who had traveled from Kampala to attend a music show at Lions Bar in the village. What was meant to be a night of entertainment turned into a deadly confrontation.
According to reports, the Kampala youths reportedly angered the villagers through their actions, which included using fake money and allegedly engaging in pickpocketing. Tensions escalated quickly, and the local residents responded violently. During the attack, the taxi that had brought the youths, registration number UBD 326X, was destroyed by fire. The incident left the entire community in fear and mourning.
Police quickly intervened, recording statements from survivors and witnesses to understand the full circumstances of the attack. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kayunga Hospital for post-mortem examinations, while the burnt-out vehicle was secured as evidence.
