“The Territorial Police in Luwero district are actively investigating a case of counterfeit cement that occurred yesterday, Saturday, the 5th of April, 2025, at around 10:30 am at Kasana market and Kalongo zone, all within Luwero town council, Luwero district.
It is alleged that on 4th April 2025, OC Station Luwero received information that there was a hardware store at Kasana along Kasiso Road making counterfeit cement.
He swiftly responded to arrest one Onyango Ronald and cordoned the scene; a team of officers led by DPC, Riso, DISO, SOCO, and OC CID proceeded to the scene for further examination.
A search was conducted at the said hardware and his residence in Kalongo; exhibits were recovered (bags of suspected counterfeit Tororo cement, Hima cement, Fundi cement, empty packaging bags, and suspected counterfeit materials in two ordinary sacks).

Two suspects were arrested—Onyango Ronald and Mutesasira Dauda—to help in investigations. A case of counterfeit was registered, relevant statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, samples were picked for further analysis, and all mentioned companies were informed to come and make statements.
