A major focus of the discussions was collaboration in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IT skills exchange programmes with leading U.S. firms. Such partnerships could create new opportunities for Ugandan professionals to gain advanced technical expertise, while also attracting American technology companies to invest in Uganda. By sharing knowledge and innovation, both countries stand to benefit from stronger economic and technological ties.
The importance of building resilient regulatory frameworks was also emphasized. As digital services expand, clear, predictable, and secure regulations are essential. UCC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining an environment that promotes innovation while protecting consumers and investors. A stable regulatory space gives global partners the confidence to invest and grow within Uganda’s digital ecosystem.
Inclusion remains central to UCC’s vision. The Commission continues to work toward ensuring that every Ugandan, regardless of location, has access to reliable and affordable digital services. Expanding connectivity to rural and underserved communities is not just a goal—it is a responsibility.
