Yesterday, the Uganda Communications Commission (@UCC_Official), in partnership with World Vision Uganda (@WorldVisionUg) and the National Social Security Fund (@nssfug), officially launched the E-Classroom Project. This innovative initiative has equipped 13 primary schools in Mpigi, Buikwe, and Nakasongola with modern ICT tools, aiming to boost digital literacy and skills among young learners.
The E-Classroom Project is part of the #UCUSAF initiatives by UCC, which focus on ensuring that no Ugandan is left behind in the rapidly evolving digital era. By providing students with access to computers, internet connectivity, and other digital learning tools, the project is designed to prepare children for the demands of the 21st century.
Officials from UCC highlighted that digital skills are now essential for education, business, and social development. With this project, learners will have the chance to explore new ways of learning, engage with technology, and gain hands-on experience that can shape their future careers.
Teachers in the beneficiary schools have also welcomed the initiative. They see it as an opportunity to integrate technology into classroom teaching, making lessons more interactive and engaging for students. The project is expected to create a learning environment where young minds can develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence in using digital tools.
The E-Classroom Project also underscores the importance of partnerships in driving development. By joining hands with World Vision Uganda and NSSF Uganda, UCC has demonstrated how collaboration between government agencies, non-profits, and social funds can bring meaningful change to communities.
As Uganda continues its journey towards digital inclusion, initiatives like the E-Classroom Project are vital in bridging the digital divide. Students in Mpigi, Buikwe, and Nakasongola now have a platform to learn, innovate, and become part of the country’s growing technology-driven economy.
With the launch of these modern learning spaces, Uganda is taking significant strides to ensure that education for all is not just a promise but a reality in the digital age.
