The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled a crucial meeting with all agents representing the eight presidential candidates, together with the leadership of the Uganda Police Force, at its headquarters on December 3rd, 2025. The meeting, which will be chaired by EC Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama, is set to start at 11:00 a.m. and marks the third such gathering since the commencement of the nationwide campaigns.
The primary aim of this meeting is to provide a platform for agents to share reports and feedback from their respective perspectives. It also offers an opportunity for them to raise any issues or concerns that have emerged during the campaign period. By bringing together representatives of the presidential candidates and the police, the EC seeks to ensure that the ongoing campaigns are conducted smoothly, fairly, and without disruption.
Over the course of the meeting, participants are expected to discuss challenges encountered on the ground and explore solutions collaboratively. This initiative highlights the EC’s commitment to transparency and accountability while ensuring that the voices of campaign agents, who operate directly within communities, are heard and considered in the electoral process. With tensions often running high during election periods, such forums play a critical role in maintaining order, preventing disputes, and safeguarding a peaceful campaign environment across the country.
As the campaigns continue to gain momentum, this meeting serves as a reminder of the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and proactive problem-solving in the democratic process. All eyes will be on the discussions at EC headquarters as Uganda’s presidential race intensifies in the final stretch before the elections.
