Security agencies have arrested a man suspected of killing an 18-year-old student in Wakiso District on Valentine’s Day. The suspect, Musasizi Herbert, aged 41, was tracked down and arrested in Gulu District after the tragic incident that shocked the community of Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division.
The victim, Bukenya Martin, was allegedly beaten to death on the evening of 14th February 2026 at around 8:00 PM. The incident reportedly happened at the suspect’s residence in Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District. According to preliminary reports, the suspect is said to have found the young man inside his house with his 14-year-old daughter, which led to a violent confrontation.
Bukenya was a student at Hillside Secondary School Matugga and lived in Kirinyabigo, Kawanda, Nabweru Division in Wakiso District. His sudden and tragic death has left his family, classmates, and neighbors in deep sorrow. Many describe him as a young man whose life was cut short at a very early age.
After the incident, the suspect reportedly left the area. Security agencies later located and arrested him in Gulu District. He is currently in custody as investigations continue. Authorities have assured the public that a full inquiry is underway to establish all the details surrounding the case.
