We Won’t Allow Any Unauthorized Movements For Tomorrow’s Anti-Corruption Walk Day-Police

Police and other security agencies have warned all unauthorized groups of people, individuals not walk from either the offices or homes to constitutional squarely  unless they are cleared by police.

Patrick Onyango the police spokesperson for Kampala metropolitan while addressing journalists today said that as police they are only aware of one walk known as Anti Corruption walk slated to take place tomorrow 4th Dec . “Police only cleared organizers of anti corruption walk, so any other group intending to either walk from any side ,or from their offices or homes and has not been cleared with police will not be allowed,”says Onyango.

He adds that police is deployed to it’s capacity and has also been boosted with other security agencies especially intelligence departments to ensure that the function is conducted well without any interferences.

Onyango also said that as security they haven’t received any threats as per tomorrow’s function adding that though as security they can’t fold their arms but to be alert. Relatedly Norman Musinga the Kmp commander in charge of traffic told us how some roads leading to city centers have been closed to avoid traffic jams and also not to intercept the function.

Norman warned all the motorcycle riders and motor vehicle drivers to ensure that they adhere to guidelines and orders given to them by traffic officers. “All motorists and drivers must adhere to the orders from traffic officers,”says Norman adding that whoever doesn’t listen to orders will be arrested there and then . Musinga also said that traffic officers will direct the drivers of the function where to park adding that different parkings have been created for specific people.

Traffic boss added that VVIPS with stickers will have their own parking at Grand imperial and inside high court and they will access their parking through Kampala road. He also said that other participants will be dropped off at city square along Kampala road and the vehicles will park at the disignated parking areas which include city high school, UMI, Forest mall Lugogo Hotel African among other places. Musinga further said that the main route for the walk will be Buganda road (constitutional square) ,square 1 road, Lumumba avenue, High court Round about, speke road, standard chartered round about, Nile Avenue, UBC round about, Nakumatti (garden City) roundabout, Jinja Traffic lights, Jinja road, Wampewo round about, Wampewo Avenue up to kololo ceremonial Grounds. The chief Walker is HE the president of the republic of Uganda.
