Must read

I had the chance to chat with our incredible debaters, emphasising that they aren’t just competitors; they’re leaders when it comes to discussing our digital future. The internet is more than just memes and funny videos, it’s a space where we shape our identities, share ideas, and, unfortunately, sometimes face challenges like cyberbullying and misinformation.

Here’s something to think about: Over 70% of internet users in Uganda are under 30! That means that these guys hold the key to shaping this digital landscape. With nearly half of the students facing cyberbullying, their voices matter more than ever.Debating is more than just making a case; it’s about owning your message and having the courage to express your views.

I recall the young debater from Lira who said, “Digital freedom must come with digital responsibility” That’s the kind of mindset we need to champion!Looking forward, let’s continue this conversation. I challenged our young debaters to be bold, brave, and brilliant. Their words can go beyond the stage and influence our nation’s future! Here’s to more debates, more conversations, and more curious minds. Let’s keep paving the way forward!
