Police in Mbale City are searching for a police sergeant who is accused of defiling a 12-year-old girl.
According to a flash report from Elgon Region dated 12/07/2026, the incident happened on Friday, 11th July 2026 at around 5:00 PM.
The case was reported by No. 75677 PC Baluka Rose, a 32-year-old officer attached to the Fire Brigade and a resident of Mbale Police Barracks. Her telephone number is 0782105756.
PC Baluka told police that while she was away from home, her niece, Kyakulaga Justine, was allegedly defiled by Sgt. Emoot. The victim is a Primary Three pupil at Wanyera Primary School. She is only 12 years old.
The report states that the suspect, Sgt. Emoot, is currently on the run. Police have not yet recorded full statements and the scene of the incident has not yet been visited. However, the victim has already been issued with a PF3A form for medical examination. This form is used to document cases of sexual assault for both medical treatment and court evidence.
The case was registered at CPS Mbale City under SD Ref: 126/11/07/26. Police say investigations are ongoing.
The report was signed by K. Ocaya, Superintendent of Police and the District Police Commander for Mbale CPS. He said further updates will be given as the inquiry continues.
The news has caused concern among parents, teachers, and child rights activists in Mbale. Many are calling on police to arrest the suspect quickly and ensure justice for the young girl.
Authorities are also urging members of the public with any information about Sgt. Emoot’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station immediately.
