100 Police Officers Selected For Promotion,Names Sent To President M7 For Approval

A total of 100 senior police officers will soon be having smiling faces after their names have been been carefully selected and vetted for promotion, Spyreports has exclusively learnt.
Our reliable sources say, the vetted officers who are soon getting promoted range from the rank of SSP to SCP.
According to inside security sources, over 300 names of police officers were selected from various police departments for promotion and their names were sent to Police Authority for confirmation. “Over 300 names were sent to Police Authority for approval but the former Internal Minister Gen Otafire refused to sign and forward to the President,” Says a source adding that no reason was given.
Another source says, several reminders were sent to him but all in vain. “Gen Otafire had issues with top police leadership and we think it was the reason why he failed to sign and forward the names to the President for final approval,” says an insider. Intelligence sources say after the cabinet reshuffle was made, the new Internal Affairs Minister instructed for vetting of the names before he could sign and forward to the President. “A team from different security agencies was made to review the names that were sent for promotion and come up with the final list,” Reveals another security source. He added during the verification it was discovered that some individuals had bribed from promotion. “Some officers had just gotten ranks and wanted more which was not good and we rejected it,” says another officer on who was on vetting team. He added that others had disciplinary offences and were on Katebe while others had not attended any course among others. “We came up with only 100 officers who really deserved promotions. They met all the requirements. The Minister signed on the list and sent it to the President for finally approval,” reveals another intelligence officer. He says after the President signs and promotes them, he will now consider appointing new police directors to replace those whose contracts expired and were not renewed.
