The Kampala Metropolitan Police has refuted claims that the Division Police Commander (DPC) Katwe, Superintendent of Police David Kamugira, has died along Salama Road.
This followed a video circulating on social media, particularly on TikTok, alleging the death of the DPC.
“We would like to categorically state that this information is false, misleading, and malicious. Superintendent Kamugira is alive, safe, and continues to diligently perform his duties in Katwe Division”.Said Police.
It is clear that the creators of this video have intentions known only to themselves. However, it appears their aim is to undermine the work of the DPC, particularly his efforts in combating gang-related crimes in the area , crimes that have in some instances been linked to individuals who are Musicians.Added police deputy spokesperson Kampala metropolitan. “We wish to assure the public that these baseless claims will not deter the DPC or the Uganda Police Force from executing their mandate. Investigations are underway to identify those behind this video, and they will be held accountable in accordance with the law”.Said.
Police have however, urged the general public to disregard the video and treat its contents with the contempt they deserve.
