Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has asked the police to take action after Professor Badru Kateregga said his wife, Nnaalongo Jolly Shubaiha, attacked him.
Kateregga, a well-known professor, claimed his wife tried to kill him in their Buziga mansion. He said he was badly hurt in the head during the fight and fell into a coma. Doctors saved him after emergency surgery in ICU.
He also accused his wife of trying to take over his property, including Kampala University, his bank accounts, and his home. Fearing for his life, he says he has now left his mansion.
General Muhoozi commented on social media, saying women in Uganda have been given too much power and that police should handle domestic violence cases fairly, no matter the victim’s gender.
