TOP STORY!! Lubowa Police Station Turned into a War Zone as SFC Soldiers Mercilessly Beat Police Officers Over Detainee Dispute

Must read

In a horrifying incident that has shocked the country, Lubowa Police Station turned into a scene of violence and chaos when soldiers from the Special Forces Command (SFC) stormed the premises and launched a brutal attack on police officers, leaving nine of them severely injured and hospitalized.

The incident occurred when SFC operatives arrived at the station with more than eight suspects who had allegedly been involved in a robbery within the Lubowa Estate. Disturbingly, the suspects were in a visibly tortured state — bleeding, bruised, and struggling to stand. According to eyewitness reports, it appeared the suspects had already endured severe beatings, raising immediate concern among the police officers at the station.

When the SFC soldiers demanded that the injured suspects be detained, a police officer on duty hesitated and questioned the condition of the detainees. He rightly asked, “How can we detain people who are nearly unconscious, bleeding, and in need of urgent medical attention?”

Concerned, the police officer called his OC Station, ASP Sunday — who promptly arrived at the scene. Upon witnessing the appalling condition of the suspects, ASP Sunday stood his ground and advised the soldiers to first take the suspects to a medical facility for treatment before any lawful detention could be arranged.

Instead of cooperating, the SFC soldiers took offense and reportedly made a call to a commanding officer identified as Lt. Amoo Samson. What followed next was nothing short of an assault on law and order. Within minutes, more SFC reinforcements arrived and surrounded the entire police station.

With no warning, the soldiers — some wielding wires and batons — began to beat every officer in sight. Cries for help echoed through the compound as men and women in uniform were dragged, whipped, and battered by fellow state agents. The attackers showed no mercy — even senior officers like ASP Sunday were not spared.

The violence lasted several minutes, and by the time it ended, nine police officers lay injured — some with broken bones, swollen faces, and deep cuts. In the chaos, the very suspects brought in by the SFC operatives disappeared, adding another layer of mystery and concern.

The wounded officers are currently receiving emergency medical care at Dr. Doctors Clinic in Seguku, where doctors report that some are in critical condition.

This incident raises alarming questions about inter-agency respect, abuse of power, and the safety of those entrusted with enforcing the law. What message does it send to the public when armed state forces turn against each other? How can justice prevail when those meant to uphold it resort to brutal violence against fellow officers?

The Uganda Police Force has launched an investigation into the incident.

As the public reels from this shocking display of violence, there is growing pressure on the government to act swiftly, transparently, and decisively. The nation demands justice — not just for the nine wounded officers, but for the rule of law that was so blatantly violated in Lubowa.
