Police have arrested eight suspects in connection with a viral TikTok video in which a group of individuals allegedly boast about carrying out violent attacks against members of the public.
The video, which has been widely circulated on social media, reportedly shows about six individuals praising themselves for attacking people and allegedly causing serious injuries, including broken jaws and teeth. The individuals are also alleged to have demanded a share of money earned by dentists treating victims of the attacks and threatened medical workers who failed to comply.
Following the circulation of the video, police at Old Kampala launched investigations to establish the identities of those involved and determine whether they were connected to any criminal activities.
On September 8, 2026, police carried out an intelligence-led operation at Gojo Gym in Namungona, Lubya Parish, Rubaga Division, Kampala District. The operation resulted in the arrest of eight suspects, four of whom are allegedly seen in the viral video.
According to preliminary police investigations, the suspects allegedly used the gym as a meeting point while presenting themselves as people training in boxing. However, police suspect that some of them could be involved in a wider range of violent criminal activities.
These alleged activities include robbery, housebreaking, theft, phone snatching, use of deadly weapons and unlawful possession of narcotic substances.
The suspects arrested have been identified as Matiti Mohammed, also known as Beast-Commander; Nurudin Kasule, also known as 2 I/C; Umar Mubiru; Lukooya Adams; Kiyimba Martin; Alinda Yosam Junior; Walumu James; and Elvis Simanya.
Police said the last four suspects were found at the gym during the operation, with some of them allegedly found in possession of suspected narcotic substances.
The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue, with police preparing to take them through the court process.
Police are also continuing with efforts to identify and arrest other individuals allegedly appearing in the viral video. Investigators are expected to establish whether the individuals are connected to the reported attacks and other criminal incidents.
Members of the public who may have information about the suspects, their alleged activities or possible victims have been urged to come forward and assist police with information that could help the investigation.
Police have also encouraged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspected criminal activity to the authorities.
