Suspects Face Terrorism Charges After Power Pole Vandalism in Wakiso

Must read

In a joint effort between the police and local residents, two men were arrested for destroying electricity poles in Kikaya Namugala village, Wakiso District. The suspects, identified as God Katabarwa and Lukwago Sam, are both residents of Bulete village. They were caught red-handed while vandalizing the poles—thanks to quick action and strong cooperation between the Kasanje police station and local leaders.

According to police reports, the arrest was made possible after residents shared timely information about suspicious activity in the area. With the help of local leaders and joint foot patrols by both police officers and community members, the suspects were tracked down and taken into custody before they could escape.

Electricity vandalism is a serious crime, as it can disrupt power supply to entire villages and damage expensive infrastructure. Such actions not only affect homes but also put lives and businesses at risk.

The police say Katabarwa and Lukwago may face terrorism-related charges due to the seriousness of their actions. If found guilty, they could face heavy punishment under Ugandan law.

Residents of Kikaya have praised the teamwork between the community and security forces, saying it shows how much can be achieved when people work together to protect their neighborhood. Authorities have urged other communities to remain alert and report any suspicious activities that may harm public property or safety.

As investigations continue, the suspects remain in custody at Kasanje police station, and more charges may follow depending on the evidence gathered.
