NRM Delegates From Kaabong & Karenga District Endrose Mr Calvin Echodu For NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern Uganda

Must read

Mr. Calvin Echodu, who is vying for NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern Region, is in the Karamoja sub-region as he continues his countrywide tour mobilizing support for his bid for the Central Executive Committee (CEC). He held his first meeting yesterday at Kaabong Resort Hotel where he addressed party leaders from Kaabong District and some delegates from Karenga District.

During the engagement, Mr. Echodu received a warm reception and a strong show of confidence from the NRM grassroots leadership. In a unanimous gesture of support, the NRM delegates from the two districts officially endorsed him for the Eastern Region Vice Chairperson position, a key role on the party’s highest decision-making organ.

This endorsement marks yet another major boost to Echodu’s campaign as he gains traction across the country. Known for his practical approach to leadership and focus on community-centered development, Echodu has steadily built a profile as a voice for the youth, the grassroots, and marginalized communities.

Speaking at the Kaabong event, several district leaders highlighted his vision, integrity, and deep connection to the people’s everyday realities. They cited his work in youth empowerment, education advocacy, peacebuilding, and agricultural development as reasons they believe he is the right candidate to steer Eastern Uganda leadership forward within the NRM framework.
“Calvin Echodu represents a new generation of leadership, one that listens, engages, and delivers,” said Peter Pex Paak, the Vice Chairperson Kaabong District. “He understands what the region needs and has the energy and ideas to push the region’s priorities to the national level.”

Echodu called on the delegates to rally support behind the National Chairperson, H.E. President Yoweri Museveni and all the party flag bearers for the forthcoming general elections. He said this would promote unity within the party.
The meeting also served as a platform for open dialogue on the challenges facing the Karamoja sub-region. Echodu encouraged party structures to stay united and focused on service delivery, promising to be a strong and accessible link between the region and the party’s central leadership.

As his tour progresses, the momentum around Echodu’s candidacy continues to build. With the solid backing from Kaabong and growing interest from other districts, he positions himself as a frontrunner who is not only campaigning, but actively listening and learning from the people he seeks to represent.
