The people of Kanungu District were left in shock after the brutal killing of a well-known businessman, Anthony Mutinisa, on Sunday evening. Mutinisa, 53, was the proprietor of Mutinisa Motors Uganda, a business that had earned him respect in the community. His life was tragically cut short when he was allegedly shot in cold blood by a private security guard.
The suspect has been identified as Byaruhanga Hillary, a 28-year-old guard attached to Don World Security Limited. According to police reports, after shooting Mutinisa, Byaruhanga fled the scene with the victim’s car, a vehicle registered under number UA 769 BQ. The shocking incident sparked a manhunt in Kanungu District, leaving residents in fear and disbelief.
Police later recovered the stolen car in Katwe Cell, Kihihi Town Council, and managed to arrest Byaruhanga together with another man, Akampa Mark, who was reportedly found in his company. Both men are now in custody as investigations continue to establish the full circumstances of the crime.
The killing of Mutinisa has caused deep sorrow among his family, friends, and business community. Many described him as a hardworking man whose sudden death has robbed Kanungu of a visionary entrepreneur. Authorities have assured the public that justice will be served and that those responsible for the murder will face the law.
