Murder in Motion!! Land Broker Killed in His Own Car Along Busabala Road

Must read

Residents of Kibiri A, Masajja, in Makindye Division, Kampala District, were left in shock on Thursday, October 16, 2025, after a horrifying murder took place in broad daylight. A 31-year-old land broker, Kakembo Geoffrey, was brutally killed by his colleague and fellow land agent, Mukisa Tonny, while the two were driving along Busabala Road. The shocking incident has left the local community stunned and searching for answers as to what could have led to such a violent act between business partners.

According to police reports, the two men had been seen together earlier that day after Geoffrey picked up his vehicle, a Toyota with registration number UBP 620S, from a nearby parking yard. Mukisa accompanied him in the car, but the drive took a tragic turn when an argument allegedly broke out between them. It is reported that Mukisa pulled out a knife and stabbed Geoffrey in the neck, leaving him bleeding heavily as the vehicle lost control on the road.

Eyewitnesses said that a lorry driver who was following behind noticed the car swerving dangerously and stopped to offer help. To his horror, he found Geoffrey slumped in the driver’s seat, bleeding, while Mukisa appeared to be trying to support him. A bloody knife was discovered on the driver’s seat, pointing to a clear case of foul play. The incident quickly attracted the attention of nearby residents, who called the police.

Police officers arrived promptly at the scene and arrested Mukisa Tonny, who was found with blood stains on his clothes. Investigators recorded statements from eyewitnesses, secured the murder weapon, and cordoned off the area for forensic examination. The police also recovered the vehicle and took Geoffrey’s body to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem examination to confirm the cause of death.

In a statement issued by SSP Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, he confirmed the arrest and assured the public that investigations are underway. He added that Mukisa is cooperating with the police to establish the motive behind the killing. The tragic incident has once again highlighted growing concerns about disputes among land brokers in the city and the need for peaceful conflict resolution within the real estate business.
