Nsangi Police Division has received a significant boost from the national Police headquarters, including two motor vehicles and an additional 30 personnel, aimed at enhancing security in the area. With these reinforcements, the division has stepped up its operations and patrols, showing strong results.
On October 21, 2025, police arrested 46 suspects, and on October 22, 2025, another 37 suspects were taken into custody. Those arrested face charges ranging from being a common nuisance, possession of suspected stolen property, to carrying dangerous weapons.
The police have also strengthened community involvement by setting up village security committees. These committees work hand in hand with the police to patrol neighborhoods, helping to identify and prevent criminal activities. The initiative has been welcomed by local residents, and since the start of these joint patrols, no major incidents have been reported.
Authorities say the aim of these efforts is to restore public confidence in security and address growing concerns over panga-wielding thugs in the area. With the combination of increased police presence, community cooperation, and proactive patrols, Nsangi is showing promising signs of becoming a safer and more secure area for its residents.
