Sad!! Parents Fear for Missing Daughter as Decomposed Body Discovered in Kyampisi

Must read

Police in Kampala Metropolitan East and North are currently investigating two separate but alarming incidents involving a missing juvenile and a decomposed body discovered in Kyampisi Subcounty. Authorities have appealed to the public to remain calm as investigations continue.

The first case involves the disappearance of 12-year-old Aneza Merisa, reported missing by her mother, Kamuganga Sarah, at Wandegeya Police Station on 6th November 2025. The circumstances surrounding Aneza’s disappearance remain unclear, and police have launched efforts to trace her whereabouts.

The second incident took place in Namulaba Village, Kyampisi Subcounty, where a decomposed body was discovered in Musaale Swamp on 10th November 2025. Police say the body was dressed in a navy-blue student skirt labeled “Nanyonga VII,” suggesting the victim may have been a schoolgirl, though the exact institution is yet to be confirmed.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the mortuary staff in Kayunga buried the body in a cemetery. Parents of the missing child, upon learning of the recovery, feared the remains might belong to their daughter. However, police emphasize that no physical identification has yet been made.

Authorities have applied for a court order to allow exhumation of the body. Samples will be collected for DNA testing, which will determine whether the remains are those of Aneza Merisa. The process is expected to provide clarity for the family and the community.

ASP Luke Owoyesigire, Deputy Public Relations Officer of Kampala Metropolitan Police, said investigations are ongoing, and there is no confirmed link between the missing girl and the body recovered in Nagalama. Police continue to work with local schools and institutions to identify the victim.

Residents of Kyampisi and surrounding areas have expressed concern over the discovery of the body, highlighting fears about safety and the protection of children in the region. Authorities are reassuring the public that the investigation is a top priority.

The police also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and to immediately report any missing children or suspicious activities. Cooperation from the community is considered essential in solving these cases quickly.

Forensic experts will play a key role in confirming the identity of the decomposed body, and police have assured that all necessary procedures will follow legal and scientific standards to ensure accuracy.

Further updates will be provided once DNA results are available or new information emerges. Police appeal for patience from the public while they carry out thorough investigations into both cases.
