UGANDA IN PREPARATION TO CELEBRATE THE 4OTH NRM LIBERATION DAY

The minister for Presidence Mrs. Babirye Milly Babalanda has announced that the country is in preparations to celebrate the 40th NRM liberation day on Monday 26th January.

Briefing the media, Minister Babalanda said that the celebrations will take at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds and that the theme for this year’s celebration is ; Tribute to patriots who ushered in a fundamental change “.

She also noted that the chief guest of the day will be the president of uganda General YK Museveni who will be accompanied by other distinguished guests from with in the country and the rest of the world.

She added that this year’s celebration will be unique the fact that it came at time when candidate Museveni has just been voted into the office of the president for his 5th term with the highest percentage of 71%.

Relatedly she said that this year’s celebration will be marked with a special military parade by the UPDF , the Uganda police force, the uganda prisons and Uganda wild life force and other entertainment to befit the momentous day.

Babalanda added that on that day the president will accord medals to 33 ugandans who sacrificed for their motherland to reach where it is today.

She explained that 26th January is the day the gallant NRA fighters captured Kampala ending the rule of the UNLA junta which was led by Tito Okello Lutwa and the leader of NRA fighters Museveni was subsequently sworn in uganda as the 9th president hence worth celebrating.
