NOTORIOUS LAND GRABBER KAYONDO JUMA ARRESTED!!

Must read

Kayondo Juma, a resident of Kira-Kito in Kira Municipality, was yesterday (1st March 2026) arrested and detained at Kira Road Police Station following a formal complaint by prominent business mogul Mr. Umar Katongole.
The charges against him are concealing a land title and threatening violence. According to the details of the case:

Around 2019, Kayondo Juma sold approximately 20 decimals of land situated at Kiwatule to Mr. Umar Katongole. He was fully paid, signed all transfer forms, and surrendered the original land title. In late 2023, he suddenly claimed the 2019 price was too low compared to 2023 market rates and demanded additional money. After prolonged negotiations involving Muslim elders, Mr. Umar Katongole made further payments in 2024. Kayondo Juma then agreed to surrender the certificate of title (even on reduced acreage), effectively receiving double payment for the same land. However, when Mr. Katongole demanded the title, Kayondo Juma instead resorted to gun threats and insults, warning that anyone asking for the title “would be put to rest.” This forced Mr. Katongole to open the current criminal case.

Background on Kayondo Juma’s long history of fraud:
Kayondo Juma is one of the most notorious and repeat land grabbers in the Kira-Wakiso corridor. He has been arrested countless times (locally described as over 100 times) for similar offences including:
Selling land with fake or disputed titles,
Double-selling the same plots,
Demolishing people’s houses to grab land,
Carrying out illegal evictions against vulnerable families, widows, and elderly persons,
Demanding extra payments after full settlement, and
Using threats and violence when confronted.
Despite frequent arrests, detentions, and court appearances, he has consistently refused to reform and continues to prey on unsuspecting buyers and vulnerable citizens. His operations thrive on the chaos in land registries, weak follow-up on cases, and exploitation of urban expansion in areas like Kira, Kiwatule, Mukono & Other areas.
CAUTION TO THE PUBLIC:
We strongly advise every Ugandan, especially those buying or dealing in land in Kira Municipality and surrounding areas, to completely avoid any transaction or dealing with Kayondo Juma. Do not buy land from him, do not accept him as a broker, and do not engage in any negotiations. Always conduct thorough due diligence at the Lands Registry, engage a lawyer, and verify ownership before parting with even a single shilling. He is a known serial offender whose word and documents cannot be trusted.
STRONG APPEAL TO POLICE LEADERSHIP:
To the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander, the Wakiso District Police Commander, and the entire leadership at Kira Road Police Station and CID:
This man has terrorised communities for years. Enough is enough. We demand that Kayondo Juma be produced in court without delay, that full investigations be concluded speedily, and that he faces the full force of the law. Quick releases and repeated cycles of arrest-and-return have only encouraged lawlessness and eroded public confidence in the justice system. The people of Kira and greater Kampala are watching. Act decisively to protect citizens’ property rights and restore order in land matters.
Land grabbing and fraud must stop. Vulnerable citizens deserve protection.
