Tension and fear is looming in the Uganda police force after intelligence reports have emerged that some top officials may soon be arrested and prosecuted in courts of law for having involved in corruption Scandal worth Shs 505m, Spyreports has exclusively established.
According to our intelligence, the mult million corruption Scandal came from three procurements that were awarded by fake contractors. “Three procurements worth Shs 505m were given out to bidders who failed to meet basic criterias such as lack tax clerence certificate,PPDA registration, NSS F clearance among others,” a source from Auditor General office reveals to us.
The source further says that police also made shortage of accommodation of police personnel with a reported deficit of approximately 18700 housing units.
” We have also established that Uganda police has only 13000 housing units against an entitled staff population of about 20000, creating a deficit of over 18700 units,” Another source from Auditor General office says adding they are establishing more rots in police force.
Insiders from police who we talked on protection side say, they saw the mess long time ago but could not reveal it for fear of harsh punishment. “We knew the truth would come out and we thank Auditor General office for bring it out to public,” Says a senior police officer. He says IGP and CID should start with procurement,Accounts and finance because those departments are completely rotten.
It is on record that police has been on spot when it comes to corruption Scandals. The former IGP Rtd Gen Kale Kayuhura once accused former AIGP Godfrey Bangirana for inflating the costs of constructing police houses. He accused him in front of then internal affair Minister Hon Kania at police headquarters. The President has also on several occasions accused police for being corrupt.
