The war between the United States of America and Iran has affected the Uganda’s economy by increasing inflation by 1.1% as prices of fuel is closing to Shs 6000, Spyreports has exclusively learnt.
According to Consumer price index report released by Uganda Bureau of statistics (UBOS) shows the the National inflation has increased. “Annual Fuel and Utilities inflation has increased to 4.1% from the year ending March from 2.7%” Reads part of UBOS report.

The report further shows the high increase on charcoal, fire wood, Electricity. UBOS report also indicate that the prices of international flights have also risen due to the same war. The prices of food and accommodation in restaurants have also increased by 3.7%. The increase on fuel has also increased transport costs on both long and short distances. The geographical area and income groups revealed that Masaka registered the highest inflation by 3.6% by the year ending March 2026 followed by Kamplala.

The report has also shown that inflation on health and insurance services have also increased . The report has also indicated that construction materials such as Cement, blocks have also increased . However the report has indicated that prices of food stuffs such as Fresh Milk,passion fruits, pineapple and Onions has reduced.
